"A very dangerous defective car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

My head hit the steering wheel when the airbags did not deploy, going at 50 MPH. I had 18 stitches on my forehead and a haemorrhage and lost consciousness. And also the convertible came apart. A really bad car in case of an accident. Not recommended! The car was totaled.

General comments?

I was the victim of an airbag during an accident. I can tell you that not having an air bag is not a bad thing. I wear glasses and when the air bag went off my glasses were pushed into my face. As a result I had two black eyes and cuts which also required stitches. Even that did not hurt as much as the head ache I had after being smashed in the face with the air bag.

So you would rather hit your face and glasses against the hard plastic of the steering wheel, than the airbag? You drove your vehicle into a solid object and smashed it to pieces, and ended up with a headache? Wow, Ford should be ashamed!

Airbags are designed to reduce injuries, not to make a 50 mph crash a pleasant experience. Maybe you geniuses should concentrate on trying not to hit things when you go out in your car each day.

How the heck can you hit your face with the steering wheel while wearing your seat belt??? I suspect you guys were NOT wearing your seat-belts. Airbags are designed to work in conjunction with your belts, NOT INSTEAD OF THEM. AIRBAGS ARE NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR WEARING SEAT BELTS!!! Yes, I have been in a wreck in which the airbags deployed. The shoulder and lap harness kept me against my seat so I did not kiss the airbag. Only got a little airbag rash (abrasion) on my arms and seat belt bruising. The wreck totalled my 1997 Crown Victoria, so you can imagine it was a major one.

50 mph?! ANYTHING will smash apart at 50 mph! Especially a coup. A ford 150 will be crushed to the glass doing 50 into an object.
