"A great, reliable high performance vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Two passenger side struts

Fuel pump

AIR pump.

General comments?

This car is a blast to drive, and has been since day one! Every time I think of selling the car, I just have to pop off the T-roofs and drive it on a sunny day. The decision is easy to keep it for a while longer. I have never owned a car this trouble-free and put as many miles on any other car. So far the odometer reads 363,000 and it is still going strong! The car has been VERY reliable, even in our harsh Canadian climate.

Your comments brought back some memories! I had an 1987 Mustang GT, 5-speed, 3.08 rearend, with a sun roof. I drove that car hard for the first 60k, and it never failed me.

Unbelievable reliability, I'm just sorry that I treated the car badly. I traded it for an 1989 Toyota Supercharged MR2 - definetly not the same.

The only problem I had was with the brakes, I can't even remember how many times the the pads and rotors were replaced.

I'm hoping to buy another in the near future. Enjoy your car, and thanks for sharing the comments.

My dad owned the '86 Mustang GT with the sunroof, 5.0L, 5-speed, said it was one of the fastest cars he's ever owned and he has owned A lot, and I mean A lot, of HIGH PERFORMANCE cars.

I here ya bro!

I had a 87' LX 5.0 when I was 19 years old. My 73 yr. old grandpa cosigned for the loan, and I had a blast in the car.

Even the loan officer was almost gonna deny me cause of my age and the danger of the car being that fast.

It would run bout 14.30 stock all day long, and that's fast

for a stock stang. I'm gonna get me another 87 somtime.
