1987 Ford Mustang GT review from North America
"Bang for your Buck!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The paint has been bad since I first bought the car.
The headlight switch has gone out three times, within two years of owning the car.
The transmission went out the first year of ownership, but mainly because of drag racing.
The transmission went out the second time because of drag racing, and the way it was rebuilt the first time.
The fuel pump went out on it at about 132,000 miles.
The throttle position sensor went out at about 136,000 miles.
The rear tires are impossible to keep in good condition because of the tremendous amount of torque.
General comments?
This car is blindingly fast for the money. My car has seen speeds of over 130 mph and it's an automatic.
If you don't have much money and want the fastest car in town, this is the car for you.
The exhaust tone is magnificent. One that could only be reproduced by another Ford 5.0 liter.
The engine is bullet proof. I installed a nitrous kit and had it for the good part of 8 months. Once the kit was taken off there were no after effects.
The cars handling is decent. It's no Ferrari.
The interior is perfect for the car. The gauges are easy to read, the switches all at your finger tips, and the seats are comfortable, yet supportive.
The exterior is aggressive yet easy on the eyes.
