The Goodyear Eagle tires that came with it wore really quickly, but only because I run the car really hard :)
I have a Ford Mustang 2001 and so far I have had no problems at all. I have had nothing replaced and my car still runs like it new.
If you cannot keep a basic American car that's been around for almost 40 years working properly, please get a Honda Insight.
We got the car for a little under $16k, insurance is excellent for a sports car for someone my age, and I can't ask for more.
My family has had a fair share of Ford, GM, and Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth cars in the past, and out of them all, our Fords are the most reliable. GM's are overpriced, and our current Chrysler has had the most problems out of all cars!
I know plenty of people with Mustangs of various years that don't have any problems at all. I guess the only reason that theres more negatives than positives on this site about them is because the ones who don't have a problem aren't going to complain about anything and aren't going to bother, and the ones that do have something to complain about want the whole world to know.
I gave it 10's in everything because you cannot get any better for the low price. Running cost was only a 7 because mileage isn't that great at around 15-18 mpg city, and the stock tires don't last too long.
13000 miles with no end in site. Everything is perfect for being probably the cheapest Sports Coupe/Car out today!
You said: "I guess the only reason that theres more negatives than positives on this site about them is because the ones who don't have a problem aren't going to complain...". I totally agree!
Me too man. All the Mustang owners who haven't had problems are out driving. The people who post on this site are definetly THE MINORITY and most people I know have NO problems with their Mustangs. I own a 2001 3.8 myself and it's my daily driver. 37,000 miles and it's still flawless. My uncle has a 98 GT, my friend Brians mom has a 96 GT convertable (both of these are over 80,000 miles now..) my friend Jared has a 2004 GT, my friend nicole has a 96 V6 (over 100,000), my friends dad has a 700HP Modified 97 Cobra convertable (stock engine had like 35,000 miles before it was removed for a beefier engine.), my friend Chris has a 1999 V6, and my sisters friend has a 2002 V6, and NONE OF THEM HAVE HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS. I would almost say they have had NO problems besides general maintenance. But I'm sure like one of the people on this site, "one time they thought they heard a squeek" or something. And trans doesn't matter too, I have a manual and the rest of the cars I listed have manuals and autos so it's not just one that performs better. What some of these people are failing to mention too is that they probably drive their cars like they are on a police chase. Mustangs are made to be beat on, but if you beat on it too much, then yeah, your passenger window might not roll up very fast... idiots.
