My ABS sensor went out.
The car handles great with the independent rear suspension.
I think if you actually OWNED this car you'd have a bit more to say about it...cmon, hello? This is the first Mustang in 10 years to be able to finally give the 5.7L Muscle Cars some competition... and according to some mags I have read, their might not be another one like it for a while.
So if you really DO own this car, please put a little more passion into your review.
Ps.
Even though it does have 390hp, there's no way you could give it a 10/10 on performance (SLP Trans AMs and Camaros pull about the same numbers, and the Z06 Vette will smash all the above), and 10/10 on reliability?..you're not too familiar with Fords obviously... and handling? Mustangs have never been known for handling, and I doubt they ever will... and a 10/10 on the dealer..well, if your lucky maybe... and a 10 on comfort...well, I've personally been in many stangs... and I find even the Camaros to be more confortable... never mind about 20 other cars I've been in I can think of that are more confortable...
I Drive a 2003 SVT Mustang, 10th Anniversary Edition Convertible in torch red.
This car is an absolute blast to drive, I mean wow the acceleration is breath taking.
I Love the two tone interior seats, with the embroidered Cobra Logo on the back rest part of it, it really sets it of when you have the top down.
The car looks intimidating even sitting still, and it can blow the doors off a Formula Trans Am.
The only problem with the car is that the clutch pedal is way too long for comfortable day to day driving.
I Loved the short throw six-speed, but it sometimes proved difficult to get into the next gear due to how little you had to move it to go into 4th instead of 2nd.
I can drive pretty much anywhere in town without having to shift into third, but if you went by the suggested shift points they have for fuel economy you'll be shifting too frequently, My mom ends up in fourth driving on the same road I coast along in second.
I would recommend this car to anyone who loves power, but DOESN'T PLAN TO USE the mustang AS A DAILY DRIVER. I only use all capital letter to provide emphasis.
So it is your Mom's car?? Way to go... admitting that on here... ha ha ha. Good thing we are anonymous. Anyway, a 10/10 for performance is warranted in a $35K car that goes 0-60 in about 4.6 seconds. I think the last of the F-bodies from GM did the same in around 4.9 seconds at best. On top of that... there wasn't even a Camaro or Firebird made in 2003 so it is pointless to compare them anymore... until the return of the Camaro that is...
Depending upon what type of power you are looking for and what you are used too. This car will either bring you great joy or disappointment. I had a 2000 convertible vette with the Z51 sports package. I traded the vette in because I thought I was getting a faster car. I should have done my homework. When I got to the track the Cobra was.3 sec slower. What a bummer! I had bragged to my friends and they were watching as I got a 13.7 again and again.
When I reviewed the specs on the car (after I bought it!) I found out that the car runs 13.4 stock. Now my Cobra was a convertible and we all know that they're heavier so a 13.7 was probably about right. The car seemed to be very difficult to shift. I took back to the dealer and complained about the clutch, which they replaced. It shifted better for a couple months, but then went right back to the same issue.
Biggest issue with the supercharged Cobras is the clutch, take it from me an experienced Mustang owner and track driver for years. When it's time for a new clutch upgrade, upgrade, upgrade. The car does not come with a short throw shifter stock. Why the hell not!!! Ford put all of the effort into making this long awaited high powered cobra, and failed miserably on the shifting mechanisms. (clutch, shifter)
Everything else about the car is amazing. This Cobra does handle well despite the ancient foxbody frame. It's no vette, but being a mustang owner for the last ten years, it handled very well. I cut the mufflers off and put 4 inch pipe from the cats back, which made beautiful music by the way.
Don't spend 1000.00 on pricy cat back systems, go to your local Meineke and cut off the stock mufflers and replace them with straight pipe. The intake and output on the mufflers line up so you can cut them right off and put the straight pipe in without any problem. Should cost about 80 bucks. Don't mess with the cats, unless you have the proper components to replace the signal from the O2 sensors that goes to your computer. You will create havoc in your car that you don't want. Especially with the delicate balance of air/fuel needed with your supercharger.
Getting a cold air intake is a must and unmuting the exhaust is not an option unless you are a total nerd, and you shouldn't have bought the car anyway. I put a stalker body kit on mine and converted to 20 in. wheels. The car is a diamond and a major head turner. It demands much respect cosmetically and performance wise. If you are looking for a 12 sec car you will be disappointed, but the beast delivers plenty of bang for the buck. It is a dependable car and is worth the extra bucks.
The supercharger screams every time you punch it, I didn't even listen to the radio for the first month. I love the sound of the supercharger and exhaust. It is a beautiful combo that you and everyone else will be addicted to. Have fun definitely spend the money you won't be disappointed, just upgrade that clutch and all your dreams will come true.
