Clutch Noise.
I have 2001 Cobra and it's exhibiting the same types of problems that are being written here. Clutch started to squeak at about 2000 miles. Replaced pilot bearing. Noisy again immeidately. Replaced the clutch (plate and all). Noisy again. Replaced the TO bearing. Noisy again. Dealer has it now - we'll see what they do.
FYI, Ford has a customer relations number where you can bring complaints like this. They claim that this is not a common problem... But from this site it appears that it is.
We should all complain together, that's probably the only way Ford will do anything after the warranty is up.

I have never had this problem with cobra.
It is definately a rare problem. You and about.5% of cobra owners can go complain to Ford.
Is it possibly the way 5% of drivers drive that causes problems with the clutch.
I totally scatered the factory clutch in my cobra due to driver error. The aftermarket has much better clutches anyway.
I don't know about you guys, but my clutch has 70k miles on it and multiple days at the track and I haven't had a single problem with the TOB. However, if yours keeps going out I recommend taking it to a performance shop and having them put a new aftermarket clutch.
I have a 2001 Cobra and ended up replacing the clutch because of the labor involved in replacing the TOB and the car had about 50,000 miles on it. The TOB had been making noise probably since it was around 20,000 miles. Been told it actually is a common problem by a few people.
I've driven nothing but three pedal cars and I've never had to replace a single clutch in any one of them. I can't imagine blaming a clutch for its premature wear and death. These things can easily be controlled by using them properly.
