Had to get it realigned twice within three months. This is probably due to abusive driving.
The plastic coating around the stereo is peeling off. This is purely cosmetic, however.
This car is fairly fun to drive, but the car seems a bit heavy and the suspension is not so great. This is by no means a sports car, even if it does look like one.
I spun out in the rain once, and have noticed it slips around in the rain a lot.
The non-GT V6 is more considered a girl's version of the Mustang.
Acceleration is smooth but going past 3,000 rpm it pointless, as it seems to quickly taper off.
The max speed is around 110 mph.
It is quite comfortable and I took an 8 hour trip with very little pain. I am also 6'4" and sitting in this car gets some getting used to.
Shifting with a cup in the cup holder is difficult because your elbow and the cup fight for space.
I averaged about 25-28 mpg.
It proved to be very reliable, despite my doubts about Ford. I bought it from my neighbor, who bought it new and never had any problems with it except the rubber on the cup holder breaking.
I think that V-6s are not to be considered for a Mustang.
Once it was known as a Corvette enemy (never had a V-6 as far as I remember), but nowadays its just another sporty city car for a reasonable price.
I think that Ford should think about taking it up to the golden days with a muscled engine even for basic versions.
The v6 mustang is not considered a girls car. its just a more affordable version of the gt. And to the person who was like" they should stop making them",... why.. a lot of people drive v6 mustangs, guys and girls. yes they are not gonna beat corvettes, but who really cares. some people just buy them for looks, and don't give a crap about performance, even though they do have some, and should not be underestimated, and if no one was buying them, why are they still making them? Exactly.
I just took a ride in my fathers 95 mustang v6, in it seemed pretty sporty to me, once you get past the long 1st gear, and into second, you can feel the power, it may not be a v8 cobra, but it does have a sport feel to it. Girls car?..idk about that one, not 2 be sexist or anything, but a lot of girls like the automatic v6 mustangs, and the 5spd manual and clutch take a little more muscle 2 shift thean ur average.."girls car" but whatever nice car with pretty quick acceleration, even with the weight of cynderblocks in the trunk. (yes, its' winter) :)
Most reliable car I ever had. My mustang, a 5 speed, has over 190,000 on it, no kidding, never had any serious problems except that I had to get the water pump ($150) replaced at around 125,000 miles and a tensioner pulley ($25) twice. My driving is a little abusive, but still it never seems to let me down. I recently made a Houston, Tx to Chicago, IL, and back trip on it. Except for a little stiff clutch, no other problems till date. I am a little attached to it so I had been waiting for it to die, to get rid of it, which never seems to happen!!! It gives a decent gas mileage of 22 - 25 on fwy. But believe me, it is a nightmare to drive when it snows which I encounter only when I drive up north.
Agree with the original reviewer. V6 mustang = girls car.
What does your 94 or 95 Mustang V6 temperature pointer point to when running at the correct temperature? Which letter in Normal does it point to?
"The old days where the muscled car was the basic version." Well, if you knew your mustang history, a carbed. v-6 was the "basic" version of the Mustang. Not a ton of horsepower, but dang, it had a lot of torque and was affordable. Ford isn't going to give up the valuable v-6 b/c they understand, unlike many a rich or spoiled ppl that either 1.) use all their money to pay for gas and insurance on a v-8 or 2.) have mommy and daddy pay for it all for them... that most ppl want a reliable v-6 muscle car. I'm a college student and I love cars and specifically mustangs, so I'll have to live with a v6 5 speed, and I like it. Problem is, stupid ppl beat on mustangs like no tomorrow and trash a lot of them, so it is hard to find a reliable v8 model that hasn't had the differential almost destroyed by stupid drivers. Lastly, I commend anyone who works and pays for their own v8 stang b/c I rarely ever see it happen in the college world, most kids don't have to pay their own insurance or gas, so they kick the crap out of the mustang that they didn't buy, it's rediculous. Next time, before you talk crap about the v6 stang (which I've heard is more reliable than the 4.6L v8 in some aspects, I don't know for sure though), do some research. There will always be that reliable, economical, but still powerful v6 powerplant in the BASE stang. You don't like it, go buy a saleen, GT, or some other variant, but I'll stick with the base...
Well if YOU knew YOUR history you would know that it was not a carbed V6 it was an I6.
