1999 Ford Mustang Coupe review from North America
"A better looking Taurus.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Driver's side seatbelt tightened up where it was hard to pull. Dealer replaced without a charge.
Transmission shifts hard into first when coming to a stop.
Parking brake sometimes pulls up all the way without applying the brakes. Has released by itself once.
Anti-theft system once disabled the ignition even with the right keys. Couldn't start it. Used the remote to lock and unlock the doors and it magically came back.
General comments?
Awesome looks, but with the automatic and V6 it is just adequate.
Good on gas, great highway car, very solid.
Poor on slalom and curvy roads. Seats are not supportive in the twisties. Front heavy and feels lumbering. Factory Eagle GA's are garbage.
Decent quality overall, but a what a cheap interior.
Buy the GT, because you will eventually want the better suspension and the power.
