Nothing major to this point. It has a few minor defects. One of these defects is a creaking in the rear area where the top folds down. The other defect is a small gap in between the front and rear window on the driver's side.
This car is an absolute blast to drive. The power is sometimes overwhelming (especially when coming from a Jeep TJ).The ergonomics leaves something to be desired. With the driver's seat 3/4 of the way back you cannot reach the stereo. One of the best things about these cars is the abundance of aftermarket performance parts. Something as little as a aftermarket cat back exhaust wakes it up. The exhaust note is incredible on the V-8, especially after the installation of a cat back.
Hay man. Why would any one want to get a auto tranny in a performance car??? stick shift delivers all of the engines hp to the rear tires, meaning more fun.
I understand some people don't want to worry about shifting in their daily driver (understandable if you commute in rush hour traffic) but I happen to agree. I have a V6 5-speed convertible, and feel it is more of a driver's car than an automatic GT, despite the power deficit.
I got the auto because I had major knee surgery and cannot push a clutch in any longer. I installed a 2800 stall torque converter, 4.10's and SCT tuner. Anyone want to crack on my automatic anymore? I'm 37 and enjoy the true pleasure of driving it, not racing in the streets!
An auto with the mods he listed will blow a manual out of the water. Autos are awesome for drag racing and make up for the small loss of power with the lightning fast shifts compared to a stick where you would have to power-shift the hell out of your car and still not be as fast. For auto-cross and roll racing a stick is better, but I doubt the average person is using a mustang gt for either. Auto is also a lot more comfortable for daily driving and rush hour.
