I loved Mustang's until I owned this one!
I had absolutely no problems until I hit 70,000 then wham!!
1. Air Conditioning went out at 72,000
2. Starter went out at 75,000
3. Alternator bad at 75,000
4. currently Air Conditioner (compressor) just went out at 76,000.
I will never own another ford!!
This worries me somewhat. My 2000 Mustang GT Convertible just hit 76,000 miles, and I started having problems around 65,000 (actuator, rear end differential, fuel injection). I am hoping that is all of the problems I have for awhile.
Are you kidding me? the alternator probably cost a measly amount to replace and the starter? your car has over 70,000miles on it this is normal for a American car. these things are called "general maintenance"
No this isn't general maintenence. I've owned several Japanese cars with well over 150k and I never had to change a thing. Now that I've bought a ford for the first time with 80k I have to change THIS and fix THAT all the time. This is crazy. American cars just can't do it anymore.
If you want to subject yourself to driving a dead boring Toyota Corolla or Camry for 200,000 miles, you are only punishing yourself. The Ford is cheaper up front, better looking, more fun to drive, and it's worth it to replace a cheap part like an alternator after five years to drive a Mustang.
Hmmm...interesting. I haven't had any problems with my mustang gt yet, and it has almost 120,000 miles on it yet.
I own a 2000 GT, and just hit 70k. In two weeks time my intake manifold cracked, and the barrings I'm my rear went. I'v been driving it for two weeks now since it was repaired, and now every time I shift, as soon as I let out the clutch I get a thump. Almost like the ring and pinion gears hit before it starts driving..
Stoff like that isn't suppost to last for ever.
Ford is horrible, get yurself a nissan.
