2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1 review from North America
"Blast to drive and great value!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine light came on at about 8000 KMS, fault with the gas cap and neck assembly. Fixed under warranty.
Rear brake pads went at 45,000 KMS, damaged rotors. Very odd to have rear pads go before fronts. Was told ford used a very soft pad for the rear on the Mach.
Leaking hydro boost at 59,000 KMS, replaced under warranty.
General comments?
Love my Mach, it's fast exclusive and looks great. Only 500 2003's sold in Canada. The handling is good, but the solid rear axle can cause challenges at times. You need to know how to handle this car at the limits which makes it very fun to drive.
A few issues with fit and finish, but hey it's a mustang. Part of the charm is that the car has character.
I'm keeping this car, adding some new hardware and go fast parts every year. All hail the Stang!
