2000 Ford Mustang GT review from North America
""Best V8 American made car for the money""
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing gone "wrong" with the car, but there are a few detail related gripes.
Tranny shifts funny when temps are in the low 30's until warmed up.
Front seatbelts do not always retract.
Trunk "shocks" worn out.
Mach 460 sound system is worn out.
Interior a little cheap and rattles at 40mph.
No real change holder/compartment.
General comments?
The car has a lot of torque and puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Can you say rear end steer? Seating is limited for someone with a 6ft or over frame. Back seat fits 2 car seats. The clutch is very heavy and takes a little getting used to. Due to this driving in heavy traffic is a chore. The "dummy" gauges on the dash might as well not be there, one is an oil gauge that doesn't read pressure so I assume it's temp, but we don't know.. Standard American construction and "cheap looking" interior plastics. I can't really complain I talked the dealer down to $8700 on a 2000 GT with 70k on the clock.. Good purchase would do it again in a heartbeat. Next car may be an 05 GT...
