"A great reliable piece of american history!!!BUY ONE"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Vibrating on the highway around 70mph. Took to the dealer, fixed it and now its vibrating again. I wanted to know if anybody else has experienced this vibration. Nothing else! Performs great!

General comments?

I had always wanted one of the retro mustangs from the time I first saw the concept revealed at the auto show. My previous car was a 94 Saab 900 convertible.. let me just say the most unreliable piece of crap I have every drove. So I sold it and bought my dream car. I purchased a fully loaded pony package V6. This is the most attractive mustang yet. The interior is beautiful, but it could use some better materials than all the ABS plastic on the inside. I got a great deal on it and have been lovin it since. The car drives very smooth on the interstate adn the gas is great for my distance of driving. Service at the dealership is poor, but the car makes up for it. Since then I had a dual exaust put on and tinted the windows. Plan to by a gt after this one.

Yes, I've had my 2006 Premium Convert. for 7 months and the steering wheel really vibrates. Ford is clueless. I do have aftermarket wheels and tires, but it was vibrating with the factory wheels as well. Previously, I owned a 2000 Mustang Convert. and it did the same thing. I've come to just ignore it at this point.

Yes, the vibration on the steering wheel is normal. This is the way they made the Mustangs. It does not mean any harm to your car.

These are sports/sporty cars, so some vibration is going to be normal, especially if larger wheels come into play. It's called road feel, and it makes the experience more invigorating, for some that is. We have two Jaguar XK8s and they both do some of this whereas our XJ6 sedan never did because it was not designed to handle with the same razor-sharp accuracy since it was more of a luxury car. I am going to look at the new Mustang with one of my relatives today and I think the new one offers so much more than the older ones did. I just hope we can find a decent deal.

Hmmmm. Very odd. We've owned 7 Mustangs, including 4, 6 and 8 cylinder models. NONE of them ever had any vibration in the steering. Vibration is NOT the same thing as road feel. I think there is some other problem, such as out of balance wheels, out of round tires, or out of balance rotors.

Road feel means you feel the effort of steering the car. Vibration means it shakes. Shaking is NOT a characteristic of performance cars. It's a defect.

Hey everybody, thanks for the comments, but when I said vibration I meant it was coming from the ride, not the steering wheel. When I come up on 70 or slow down past 70, I get a vibration which has been checked several times, but still hasn't been fixed!!! IT'S LIKE IT IS COMING FROM THE DRIVETRAIN.

To comment 19:06: Some years back my brother encountered the type of drive train vibration you're talking about, and after a round of tire balancing, tire replacement, and brake and rotor checking (all done at no charge by the dealership) it was determined that the driveshaft was slightly out of balance. Like yours, the vibration wasn't severe and occurred at 60-70 mph. Replacing the driveshaft solved the problem. You might want to have the dealership check that.

I have an 07 V6 and it's smooth as butter at 70mph and beyond. Strangely enough I did have a vibration just one time and it literally stopped a day later.

Where I live in the spring mustangs are like (cocroaches)..just hit a garbage can and you will see them running everywhere.. I am not saying that the stangs are not good, but god there's too much of them! And many of the post-teen boys are trying to customized them trying to be a little different than other stangs.. proof that there are too much of them (the famous light bar between the seats on a convertible.. how boyish it is!!)..They are beautifull the way they were built not like most of you like them.. They are almost at every corner.. I know some will say because they are good and that is why there are soooo much of them.. But now I look at them like civic, corolla or yellow taxi cab in NY.. Have I said they're everywhere!!...by the way I own a Ford Torino GT and absolutely no intentions to customize it (love it very much!) and my driver is a Cadillac CTS-V which can eat any stock stangs GT..

I agree. you don't turn your head anymore for a mustang you don't have to, just look and you'll see one often with a girl driving. V6 or GT, convertible. On the good side they must be good cars. Can't wait for the new challenger or camaro.
