Engine died. Dead. Didn't know why, didn't care. Transplanted a stock 289 V8 and C4 automatic into it.
Transplant was fairly straight forward. Nothing that a wee bit 'o hammering couldn't fix. Absolutely stunning performance. In a straight line. Curves could be iffy at speed. But it was certainly a boulevard screamer. I still miss it. Nice little lozenge.
What were you on! A V8 in a Pinto!? You would think that the engine, transmission, and the differential and axle would go shooting down the highway without the rest of the car! But I bet it did go very fast very quickly. But still probably an accident waiting to happen.
