My water pump needed replacing at 94,000 miles.
I need to replace the valve cover gasket, spark plugs and spark plug wires.
Also I need to replace the distributor cap and roter.
The overdrive went out.
A/C doesn't work as well as when I had first bought it.
I need to replace the Struts in the rear for the hatchback.
Check Engine light keeps coming on.
This car is great to drive and handles curves very well.
The cup holder is in an odd place.
As far as replacing the water pump which was $600.00 I haven't had any problems.
When it is humid outside the car seems to idle rough and misses. Otherwise the engine is very quiet.
My kids love it especially my 15 year
old son. He thinks he's getting it for his graduation present. Ha!
This is the nicest car I've ever bought and I think I got a pretty good price. I definitely get a lot of looks. Good for someone who has a champagne taste on a beer budget.
Your Check Engine light keeps coming on because one or both of your oxygen sensors are out. You said, "when it is humid outside the car seems to idle rough and misses". The only thing that comes to mind is, you bought the GT which has the V6. The V6 requires premium gas.
Your distributer cap needs to be replaced after a long amount of time of owning the car. The water pump needs to be replaced around a 100,000 miles anyways. I have a Ford Probe 2.0 SE Hatchback and I love it. I don't find anything wrong with it and I do not have any disappointments.
Honestly, I have never had any problems, that were not driver induced. My 1994 Ford Probe handles well, is great on gas, has plenty of room, and overall, I am very pleased.
I also have a 5 speed, which is much easier on the wallet, because most people abuse automatics, by pretending that they are race cars.
I also have a 1994 Probe SE and have had great service out of it I now have 219,000 miles on it and the only problems I have with it now are the rough idling with humid temp's and the leaky valve cover gasket, but after that many miles what do you expect!
I bought a 1994 ford probe with 94,000 miles since this time I have had serious problems. First it was my struts then it was my transmission that only cost 1,400 dollars. now it is my axle. Mind you I have only had this vehicle for 3 months by the time it is paid off I am sure I probably will have replaced pretty much everything.
