General comments?
I have a bad lower back, this is the most comfortable sporty car I've even been in.
Handles great, I can take 90 degree turns going 40 with out breaking traction - I wouldn't dare that with a Mustang or Camero. :)
Stock performance is moderate, with a few intake, exhaust and flywheel bolt ons the 0-60 drops to low 5's and you are leaving stock 3000GT, Mustang GT and camero SS in your rear view - all while getting 29MPH!
Complete lack of support of engine/tranny knowledge from Ford is highly disappointing. Lack of aftermarket support from Mazda for their 2.5L V6 is also disappointing.
For one of average mechanical ability, this will prove a good teacher and study aid. :) For one who just 'drives' the car, it can be costly as Mazda parts aren't cheap like Chevy's or fords.
This car is 90% Mazda, if you didn't know. It's the sister car to the MX-6 and 626. If you ever have major problems, take it to Mazda - they deal with this engine much more often then any ford dealership does and they have all of your parts in stock, and considerably less expensive then Ford!
