1993 Ford Probe GT review from North America
"Money Pit"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Just about everything has gone wrong with this car.
The brake calipers seized up and had to be replaced.
The O2 sensors went out, along with the computer and the distributor.
The water pump went out.
The fuel pump went out.
The fuel injectors get stuck open and floods the engine.
It is missing a lot of paint.
The engine is extremely loud and there is a hole in the muffler.
It smokes terribly.
It burns oil.
The fog lights fell out after I had it for about a month.
Right now, it has been sitting for at least a year, it won't crank and the mechanic cannot find the problem although I suspect it is the distributor again.
General comments?
This car was nice looking until the fog lights fell out and the paint peeled off.
It is powerful and had great get up and go (when it was running).
From what I have seen, you are better off to go with the 4 cylinder model, many less problems with that model.
