2000 Ford Puma LUX review from UK and Ireland
"Fiesta in a fancy frock"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes kept sticking on literally within hours of picking it up. Two visits to a dealer to convince them there was a fault. New master cylinder required.
Condensation in rear lamp lens, replaced.
Parcel shelf fell apart, replaced.
Steering wheel started peeling, replaced.
Both front anti-roll bar drop links wore out, replaced.
Gearbox synchro ring failed, gearbox rebuilt.
General comments?
Despite all the problems I've had (a lot more than my old polo), I still like it. Very economical.
Dealers not too good at finding those intermittent faults, but have had no problems so far and everything replaced under warranty, no arguments.
Usual complaints of poor paint, and iffy build quality apply here as well, but since there is nothing else that matches it for drive-ability (in it's price range), I'll put up with it.
Would have been brilliant if screwed together properly, as is it's still good.
