1993 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab review from North America
"I am proud to own a vehicle that is considered Ford Tough"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The power/ground supply connections went bad before the first battery change.
Went through two starters in 13 years.
Replaced the transmission in the 7th year.
A/C and power windows went out in the 8th year.
The gas tank began leaking at the seam in the 9th year. Drove it with a half tank of gas for the next few years.
Blew a head gasket in the 12th year.
General comments?
Breakdowns were usually wear items: tires, battery or starter. This truck has never left me stranded with major mechanical problems.
Good ride and gas mileage.
Interior comfort started out great but deteriorated over time.
Changed oil often but didn't service vehicle regularly which is all the more impressive for getting 334,000 miles out of her.
I am most impressed with the 4.0L V6 engine, this little motor does not quit.
I feel like I got more out of this truck than I expected and it still looks good.
