1987 Ford Ranger from North America - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I got the car used, but it still has a perfect body and paint. The engine is strong and the car takes no time at all to accelerate. The interior is really bad, but then again, it is a 1987! But hey it still runs, it has 95,000 miles on it.

General comments?

Good truck for the money. Well built and reliable.

Hey guy, I own an '87 Ranger also. It's been very good to me. The interior is fine, maybe the owner before you had weight/hygiene problem. Although this truck broke down on my once (timing belt broke), I still love it.

I have a 1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 with 392,000 km or approx 244,000 Miles on it and its still runs strong with perfect compression and it will go off road better than any full size pick up. Its my third ranger and I will run it in to the ground LOL :)

I have a '87 Ranger too. I love this thing. It won't die. Although I am having problems with the EGR at approx. 221000 miles. but this thing wheels like a damn champ. And for looks, my dash is falling apart from sun damage, but everything else is cherry. And I don't know about you guys, but I named mine (JUGGERNAUT) and no you can't name yours that LOL :)

I too have a 1987 Ford Ranger Mini Truck. My truck has been setting for 3 or 4 years because of bad motor and clutch. I bought my truck in 2001 and drove it as my work truck until the clutch went bad. Motor still runs but needs to be overhauled, body is sound. I'm considering rebuilding the truck to new standards adding some customizing along the way. I've searched several sites to get ideas but so far haven't found any, can anyone help? Feel free to e-mail me at Mmoore42652@aol.com Thanks!
