I don't know where to begin with electrical problems...
You turn on the high beams, the headlights cut out completely.
The dome light shorts itself out and burns up every bulb I put in it.
No dash lights whatsoever, although I have the idea that might just be burnt out bulbs.
My horn does not work, although the fuse is just fine.
The door ajar light is forever on, and the check gauge light flickers on and off at it's own convenience.
Very dependable, not once has it ever failed me. Considering the high mileage, this truck is in amazing mechanical shape.
The only cost of running that I have is an oil change every 5000 kilometers.
Structurally a strong truck, I cut the roof off and made it a convertible, everything is holding up great, and the dome light is no longer an issue!
One big complaint is power, I have to down shift just to keep speed on the slightest hill. Put any weight in it and just forget about the hills. 4 cylinder defintely too small for the truck.
Your electrical problems are prolly just one of these:
1: fuses
2: wires behind dash are cut/damaged/being crushed
3:new alternator/distributor needed (one of those...)
Its impossible to get 400+ horsepower and 500+ torque from a 2.3 4 cylinder. No matter what turbos of superchargers you put on there. The engine could not handle that stress while producing numbers like that, also I highly doubt that the engine has enough moving mass to make that much torque. Granted you may have better engine specs with those upgrades, you are in no way, ever going to achieve those numbers.
I bought this truck used about a year ago... So far it's been great... A bit under powered, and it is is virtually void of storage space and leg space for the passenger, in that the glove box cannot open without hitting the passenger in the legs... Given that, I otherwise, really like the truck...
