2006 Ford Ranger Sport review from North America

What things have gone wrong with the car?
No problems at this time.
General comments?
I needed an inexpensive small truck for my business. I own an auto repair shop (transmission specialty) and am a certified auto mechanic. I chose the Ranger for it's simplicity, reliable service record and low price. The Sport Supercab 4 door model comes well equipped for a midrange priced truck. It sits high and resembles a 4x4 although is actually a 2 wheel drive. Build quality is excellent. Interior is stylish and very comfortable with lots of storage space behind the front seats. 3.0 V-6 has adequate power along with a limited slip 4:10 rear diff gear ratio. Gas mileage is marginal, but should improve with time as the engine wears in. The 5 speed automatic would be expensive to replace, but I have yet to see one in my shop. I'd recommend a shift kit to improve drivability and longevity. Great service from the local Ford dealers sales staff.
