1999 Ford Ranger review from North America
"Well built, well priced"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have only had two problems with this little truck. The first was when my speedometer went at about 95000. I attribute this to the fact that for a long time I had way too much weight in the bed of the truck and it blew out the sensor. It cost me about $250-300 US to get a diagnostic and replace the sensor. Again, like I said I am positive that this was my fault.
The second problem was this past winter (Jan, 06) when the second (middle) leaf spring cracked in half. I am not sure how this happened, but whatever the case it was fixed relatively easy with a run over to the bone-yard to grab one off a wrecked ranger.
General comments?
It's a solid well built truck that has very good pricing, both new and used. My one problem has been with driving a 2wd truck in the New England winters. Not Fun. But I figure that's how it was done by everyone back before 4wd was a standard option for most vehicles.
