1990 Ford Scorpio Ghia from Sweden - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The tripmeter(!) behaves strange. It stops occasionally.

Have to replace front brake discs.

Some of the interior lights have went out.

General comments?

Leather, automatic transmission, loaded with options, a roaring V6 - a great car!

I have added free-air kit (sport filter) and performance sparkplugs. Better sound, slightly better performance and definitely better fuel economy, 1 dl less per 10 km.

I also own a 2.9 12V Scorpio and have added a Piper-cross filter instead of the air filter housing and have had a cat replacement pipe made + changed the rear silencer for a Peco Big Bore unit.

Fuel consumption is reasonable on the highway, but terrible in city traffic.

The only thing that went bad after 5 years of use is the air con compressor..

I wish that Ford still made a car like this..

Fast (220 Km/h) cruising speed (can go almost 240 km/h)

The body still is in great condition after 11 years, just the rear wheel arches rust a little bit, but that is easily repaired.

I think this car will serve me well for another couple of years (it has ONLY done 200000 km, most of it in city traffic, and still with the original clutch)

Maybe my next car will be a Mondeo (of course with a V6)
