1985 Ford Sierra review from Romania
"A heavily built tank by Ford"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Right brake disk needs to be replaced
Brake cylinders replaced at 200.000km
Front braking joints changed at 220.000km
Interior is wearing out
All sort of rattles and noises made by the plastic inside
Nothing major.
General comments?
I love this car because I can take it on any road and it doesn't complain. I have owned it for almost 2 years now, and it never let me down. Before this I have owned an Oltcit and there was always something more to repair with that car. Now the only thing I need to wory is to fill the reservoir with gasoline and change the oil regularly. I practically smashted it on our roads, which are very bad in Romania, and I didn't manage to brake anything yet.
It took me anywhere I nedeed to go and it was always cheap to maintain. Maybe the fact that it was a cheap deal and it doesn't have any of the modern day options (power steering, electric windows, etc) made me treat it like a cheap car and not worrying to much. And it resisted impecably to all the hard work it had to do for me.
It still runs smooth, starts from the first time each morning and takes me anywhere I need to go for the day (and I travel arround 50km each day).
