General comments?
This was my first brand new car. A pre-registered Sierra 1600L Hatchback.
At the time the Sierra was a hard sell for Ford. Compared to the Cortina the things stayed stuck to the showroom floor and back in 1984 our local dealer had a fire sale to clear old stock before the face lift 85 model year cars went on sale. My car was discounted by around 25%. Unheard of for a mainstream Ford before then.
The car was a revelation compared to anything I had driven before. The ride and handling in particular where outstanding compared to Cavaliers, Montegos, Escorts and the like.
I traded it in for a new Escort two years later. In the intervening period the Sierra had caught on and I got virtually what I paid for it. Amazing!
