1995 Ford Taurus GL Wagon review from North America
"A clunky recliner on wheels"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The tranny clunks hard, when shifting. I know these Taurus trannys are junk, but it's terrible.
Rear windows will not roll down.
A/C failure, another typical Ford issue.
General comments?
This best thing about this car, is it's comfortable.
I bought this car for $450 Craigslist special, as an in between car as I am going from a 4 cyl to a 4x4. This car is a beater. It is very pokey when accelerating (figures this car is a tank), I don't worry about getting hit in it. I don't fear getting in an accident as it is huge.
I can fit a lot of junk into it, fishing poles, camping gear. Let me just say it is no head turner, more of an eyesore. Forget picking up chicks in this "grandmas" car.
I like Fords though because every one I have owned has been SUPER COMFORTABLE. I've sat in Camrys, Altimas, Accords, Civics and Corollas, and all the seats are hard and non supportive.
I'm 6'2" and 250 lbs so this car fits me nicely. I won't feel bad the day it is towed off the road by a wrecker because it owes me nothing for 450 bucks.
Signed,
(Counting the days the transmission drops out)
