1999 Ford Taurus SE review from North America
"Annoying Lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Rear window motor only works when it chooses to.
Transmission dropped while on the interstate doing 80mph on cruise control.52,000 miles. (warranty replaced transmission)
New transmission slips and makes loud clunking noise when shifting into first and second. This started within one month of it being replaced.
Coolant reservoir cracked.
Brakes have squeaked loudly since 40,000 miles.
Brake light stays one although brakes has been checked and nothing is wrong.
Radio station display light on panel will only work if headlights are on.
At speeds above 50mph the car shakes, and also when stopping.
Random oil leaks.
Front tire blew out on interstate just after buying. We had the paper proving where the dealership had marked all tires as inspected and OK, yet we still had to come out of pocket for the new tire.
Headlights will become dim for a few seconds randomly when on low-beam.
Entire rear seat moves and will not lock down, padding from underneath seat shows around edges.
Rear defroster quit working.
Power source for cell phone charger/etc. quit working. Keeps blowing fuses.
Gas gauge stopped working.
