2004 Ford Territory TX review from Australia and New Zealand
"Loads of space and a clever interior, but that's all folks!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Power window switch failed twice, "Fixed" under warranty both times. The power window switch still works intermittently.
Soft exterior panels are a problem, my father scraped against a very small wooden pole in the parking lot and it left a very large dent in the back door.
General comments?
The fuel economy is shocking. It has an 80 liter fuel tank and it only lasts for about 450km of normal driving.
The engine is very rough sounding and unbelievably coarse, Ford claims it has 182kW of power, which I think is false. It really has to be revved to get any performance out of it. I have owned a 1987 Holden Commodore for the last year and it is much faster and way more economical.
The interior is good, if lacking in quality. It has over 20 storage compartments, a washable rubbish bin and drink bottle holders in all doors. The seats are too hard and the rear seat back is very upright and uncomfortable.
The road noise borders on the excessive, and the ride is fiddly and harsh.
It handles sealed and dirt roads very competently, but will not go far off-road without getting stuck.
