1995 Ford Thunderbird LX V8 review from North America
"Most comfortable car ever!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric cooling fan went out at 85,000 miles.
Transmission torque converter begins to shudder every once in awhile. The fix is to have it flushed and add an anti shudder lubricant.
General comments?
This car is the most comfortable car I have ever owned. The seats are better than any luxury car I have been in. I have yet to see any new car beat the comfort level of the T-bird. Everything is in reach of the driver and the dash board curves around you to make you feel snug.
Aside from normal wear and tear the car has been excellent in reliability with the only annoying problem being the torque converter. It occasionally starts to shudder at about 40 mph. You can fix the symptom by having it completely flushed out and add an anti-shudder additive to it. I have done this about 3 times now and it is still running great at 180K with the original drive train.
If I could, I would keep this car forever!
