I just took my 89 LX to Reno NV and back from Boise Idaho. I averaged 22 mpg on the great 430 mile journey down due to a headwind and low tires, and 31 mpg back because I caught a tail wind and properly inflated the tires.
Although it does still need some work such as the automatic seat belts need replacement and transmission needs a new filter and fresh fluid, it doesn't leak oil or transmission fluid.
Just did an oil change on it to the tune of 38 dollars for the oil and filter, because I switched to full synthetic and replaced the heater core myself at a cost of 36 dollars for the heater core and 3 days of my own labor...
I do all the work myself and didn't have all the tools needed for the AC lines...
All said, she runs great and will do over 110 without a problem. After owning two of them I'd like to see what the SC is like.
