1980 Ford Thunderbird review from North America
"Like working on tonka toys!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump.
Fuel pump.
Engine.
Transmission.
General comments?
This was not a very reliable car. At first that is.
It came equipped with a 255cid v8 engine that (when it did blow) I was glad to see it go.
It was replaced with a 5.0 out of a 1984 Mustang GT.
I also installed the rear differential out of a cobra Mustang, and the transmission out of a Cougar.
15" wheels from a Mustang GT, and whalla!
Thunderbird GT!
Best car I ever owned. Ford, you should have built 'em this way!
Super easy car to work on.
