1984 Ford Thunderbird 2 DR Coupe review from North America
"A great car for it's age."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My Thunderbird has been great. The only problems that I have had with it is the battery going dead two times which was caused by the radio not turning off. The only other problem is that there are a couple of leaks. There is a small oil leak and then also the gasket to the water pump is leaking, but hey for an engine that is 20 years old you can't complain.
General comments?
I love the way the 84 Thunderbird drives. The power that it has, the way it stears, just everything about it. And with the original engine and transmission the way it runs is great. Ford must have done somthing right when designing this car. There are'nt many of them in the Kansas City area because of the weather and the way we treat our streets in the winter, but somehow this one survied. It has had 4 minor wrecks with it including a deer, but it has all been fixed and looks great. The only down side that I have found about it is the amount of gas it uses on city streets. Its gas mileage is great on the highway (Using only a half of a tank of gas traveling from Oklahoma City to Kansas City) but does'nt do as well on city streets.
