1990 Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe review from North America
"Awesome fast sports car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I lost all interior lights and trunk light, probably fuse.
Fog lights do not work.
It seems to overheat rather quickly.
Brake light and ABS light come on when I apply the brakes.
There seems to be this black like "tar", the seal around the windshield and back glass that melted and stained the back seats.
The automatic seatbelts have a mind of their own.
General comments?
I am the only one at East Carolina University with a Thunderbird Super Coupe!!
This is my first car and I fell in love with the Super Coupe. Best car I think Ford has made, and I especially like the 89 thru 93 models.
The Super Coupe is faster than most stock V8 cars; I love pulling up next to a Mustang at a light and blowing them away!
The one thing I cannot figure out is why there are no cupholders?
My car was babied by the first two owners, and I recieved it with around 90,000 miles, the supercharger barely used. It has had a paint job about three years ago, and she shines proudly. New Michellin X rated all season 225x60 tires handle the road well.
However, there is a rattle when I go over bumps... might be CV joints?
The engine compartment is way too cramped. It was a struggle trying to change the sparkplugs, and if you have to work on the driveshaft, it looks like you will have to remove the exaust system from the catbacks.
