Sometimes have to apply the brakes hard. When I do that, it does tend to shudder. My T-Bird is in good shape after that.
I have taken off the mufflers on my T-Bird, and put on big exhaust tips. Added some horsepower, but tends to shift later. This bird flies faster now!
220 Horses.
Hell yes, exact same thing I did to mine, you might also want to see about redoing the vacuum system to keep more pressure on the engine. I'm getting about 6.5 0-60 with just those two changes.
A great place for T-bird questions is www.tccoa.com, it's the Thunderbird Club, the members of the club have answers for practically any question you possibly could have with your Thunderbird.
If you own a supercharged Thunderbird or better known as the thunderbird SC, you should visit their web site www.sccoa.com. The guys in the clubs are very informative and nice. They even have T-bird meets so you can check out other cars.
