Transmission failure.
Reverse/Drive would not engage. Overdrive went out.
Spun the main bearing while driving.
My transmission went out completely while on a family vacation - total nightmare.
My wife went to the store for some groceries and guess what? The transmission would not engage Reverse or Drive.
While driving to work one day, the Overdrive light began to blink on the shift column. No overdrive.
OK, this guy is full of crap about this truck. First of all, the 3.8 V-6 was used in the Ford F-series of trucks from 1980 to 1986. Other than that, the transmission troubles he reported do sound credible.
I doubt this is a fully true review. most recent ownership was 1994, the truck is a 95???
I own a 1994 F-150 4.9 w/automatic transmission.
It has been very well kept, all services up to date, minor repairs done immediately and driven easy.
I had a transmission failure at 72,000 miles in 2005.
Great truck other than premature transmission failure.
