The head gaskets are bad.. the dealership will not buy it back. Walser Ford of St.Louis Park Minn say I'm stuck with this piece of crap. I believe that this dealership knew about the bad head gasket problems and now they don't want to help me or anyone else out. They need to take responsibility for this problem that Windstar owners are having with this type of van.
If I were to do this all over again I would never have bought this piece of crap of a van... and also Ford Motor Company who built this van need to take responsibility for this mistake and allowing this kind of mistake out on the roads today.
Ford won't help you either, if you received a letter from these people it's as good as a three dollar bill. I've had 2 motors and one transmission in the 16 months that I've owned it and the motor is ready to go again and what does Walser want to do??? Yep, put in another motor. When will dealerships realise that when you mess over someone like this they will tell the world about these problems that this type of van has, sad huh?
Take my advice, don't buy a Windstar and don't buy from Walser Ford of St.Louis Park, they will mess you over to make a buck and the smile that is on their face is nothing but a knife in the back... They treat the consumers like what they sell and that is crap...

Complain away... keep complaining... that's how the recall came about for the head gaskets.
Not just a problem in America!!
I just passed the one year date of owning my proud purchase of a 1995 Windstar for my new family. Since that lovely 1 year anniversary, it has been one problem after another escalating in cost and driving me deeper into financial hell. First it started with the head gasket, then the brakes, after that was the oil pan and finally, well let's just say that as I'm typing this message I am in search of a 3.8l V6 to get my kids to school and back home. I will never purchase a Ford vehicle again.

P.S. Anyone see any stardom as the first to go over the falls in a Ford Windstar?
Buy a warranty, buy a warranty... many times the dealer doesn't know...it's a used car... a new house can have problems... so can an old house.
