1995 Ford Windstar review from North America
"A constant service problem"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The anti-lock brakes activate all the time;
The check engine light is on a lot;
It has been recalled four times for:
1. bad connections in the HVAC controls; 2. Faulty cable from the battery to the alternator posing a fire risk; 3. A possible hood separtion problem; 4. The cargo door mounts could fail.
The headlights are the worst of any vehicle I have ever owned;
The headgasket is blown, and the dealer estmated the repair @ $1,000.00; there's an internet site exclusively for this problem; Ford acknowledges the defect, but refuses to help pay.
General comments?
Don't buy a used 95 Windstar unless the head gasket has been replaced! Check the internet for more information about this. Ford should do right for anyone with this problem since the company knows the design was faulty, but they don't; don't get stuck with the bill for that.
