1995 Ford Windstar LX review from North America
"From MN to FL 3 times and MN to CA 4 times. It runs amazingly well"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
90,000 head gasket
water pump
window motor
air conditioning
radio tunes in and out.
General comments?
Considering we got the van at 90,000 miles (mostly highway from MN to CA) I did check out several web sites as well as the FORD website and found the recall (I got the VIN number from the seller) and got the complete history of the vehicle from FORD. Knowing when we bought it the head gasket was leaking (The seller was clueless) we did bring it in the next day and get it replaced at the local dealership.
Various calipers, motors and such have had to be replaced and my husband hates electrical systems and this car is riddled with, and absolutely no help in the Haynes manual we have come to live without things with this car. It has however taken us to and from Walt Disney world 3 times and countless trips up northern MN over the last 4 years. (with 3 children under 8) It has survived kids hanging from door handles, wiper blades, and I have removed every chemical substance known to man from it's upholstery and it looks pretty good when it's cleaned up!
We are having troubles with the air-conditioning and I see on the web site that it's the pressure switch. so for $50 and a manual it looks like I'm getting that fixed.
