One of my O2 Sensor went out at 18,000 miles. About three months after, another O2 Sensor went out. Brakes on the van started shimmying at 30,000 miles. About a year later, same problems related to O2 Sensors... (pressing down on the gas and it'll respond a few seconds later) occurred. Had my fuel injection and a tune-up done to see if the problem will go away... it did not. Had about 10 recalls since 1994.
This 1995 Ford Windstar has been nothing, but a migraine headache to me.
I only used this van on weekends and frankly I did not drive it anywhere far because I was afraid of it breaking down. Since the first O2 Sensor went out at 18,000 miles, I had it replaced under warranty and thought that was the end of my problem.
In between all the repairs on my 95 Windstar, I had to bring the van in for all the recalls... about ten.
I brought my van in many times for the same problem (pressing down on the gas and it'll respond a few seconds later) and the Ford dealer would tell me that the computer states that the vehilcle does not show anything wrong with it.
I brought the van in to five different Ford dealers and amazingly all five dealers state that there is nothing wrong with my van.
I will never buy another Ford product in my life again!
Sounds like a case of infrequent maintenance to me.
Your experience with this van doesn't surprise me.
After all, "FORD" means "Found On Road, Dead".
Ooh, that's clever, did you make that one up yourself??
I bought a contour 96 about 4 years, and the contour never works right alway shake it to much when I was in a stop, I couldn't turn on the AC cos stars to shake it till turn off the car. ill never buy a FORD again I swear.
