I see that these comment have been going on for year now. I would also be interested in a suit against ford. I have a 95 windstar that had a tranny problem that caused the engine to blow. It has been setting for 2 yrs now. the body and interior are in excellent condition and it's a shame to see it waste away. I am currently looking for a motor/tranny or looking for someone to buy a super-nice body.

I do feel cheated by this van and want to see ford recall them all though at this point I can't see that happening.

We have 95 windstar and have one problem after another with it. we bought it used and at that time everything was working great, but within 10 hours of purchase from a private dealer the power steering pump hose blew, we had it fixed and exactly 1 yr and 8 days later that hose went again causing power steering pump to fail completely. the ABS and check engine lights have been on for almost 2 yrs now. the speedometer now works only when it feels like it which is causing many issues with the tranny shifting incorrectly at startup and during driving. when driving on the freeway it will shift from overdrive down to second and then back to overdrive at anytime it wants. this makes for very tough driving in traffic, we have had many near misses because the tranny will shift gears and cause the van to speed up or slow down at will. I love the van and evereything about it except for these issue thast make it hard to drive. I just wish ford would have a little compassion for their customers and help out the ones with serious issues that would still like to be a windstar owner, cause I know I love my windstar just not the tranny problems. I am interested in a classa action lawsuit if anyone knows anything about one, my email is aryana2luv@charter.net.

Not sure if the same problem. My 95 Windstar tranny would not "shift up" and thus high revs. In my case it was a speed sensor. Much cheaper than a tranny. Had to lift engine to replace. Working fine now for about 2 months.

I have a 95 Wind star LX. My problem is that the interior lights stay on and runs the battery down. We had the transmission problem and replaced it. $1100. Then about three weeks later had problems again. Replaced sensor on firewall under hood. No problems with transmission now. Side door lock is broken and seat motor is dead.
