1994 Geo Metro 2 door sedan review from North America
"Mileage maker!"
General comments?
Gas has gone completely out of sight as you know, so I went in search of a Geo Metro. I didn't really no much about them, except the got better mileage than my 98 Suzuki X-90. The Suzuki is tough as nails, but it's also 800 pounds heavier than a Geo, and gets around 30 mpg. That's not bad, but it's also not 50 mpg. After searching the Internet for awhile, I finally found one local. It's a 1994, two door hatchback with the 3 speed automatic, and 97K. My X-90 is a 3 speed automatic with a switch on the underside of the stick to take the overdrive on and off, so I'm used to it. I wish this car had that feature. Anyway, I took this car for a test drive, and was surprised at how quick it was compared to my X-90. I took it on a couple hills, and it did surprisingly well. I'll be picking it up in a couple days, and in few weeks, I'll let you know how it does on my commute, which is 72 miles one way. I hope that the 3 Cylinder Geo Metro will eventually be brought back to the Chevy line. From what little I've read about it, it's a Suzuki sold by Chevy, so I expect it to be around a long time.
