I would buy an Escort. I've got one with a 1.9 and a 5 speed manual. With the A/C on it can still accelerate like a rocket. It's got a lot more power and room than a Metro, and still gets 30-35MPG.
To get 2 tickets at highway speeds in a Metro your the one with guts.
