1997 Geo Metro LSi review from North America
"A good choice for a budget minded person"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel injector nozzles replaced at 30,000 miles.
Air bag module replaced at 35,000 miles.
Parts of the dashboard and other plastic trim around the exterior windows and mirrors show discoloration.
General comments?
During the first year of ownership I was a little disappointed due to its reliability at first, but it's been trouble free during the second and third year.
I decided to take the Geo on a cross country road trip during the third year of ownership. I averaged around 38 miles to the gallon and it only cost about six dollars to fill up per tank.
It needs more power and either another gear or overdrive added to the automatic transmission to handle hills and steep inclines.
