1990 Geo Metro Base review from North America
"THE BEST car if you don't care about impressing anyone"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The A/C died at about 70,000. Slows down considerably when going uphill.
General comments?
The absolute best way to get from here to there. Bought this car for $2,000 and made a CV joint repair immediately for $400. Since then, I've done regular maintenance (oil changes, brakes, belts, tuned up twice, fuel filter once etc.) and replaced the catalytic converter when I moved to CA and had to pass the strict emissions test here. This car has NEVER let me down. I've driven it cross country and back twice, been in 2 minor fender benders and come out uninjured (the car is so light it sort of bounces instead of crunching)and had it run great everytime I've driven it over the past 9 years! I fill it about 3 times every 2 months and have never paid to have collision insurance on it (no need). I pay about $650 a YEAR for liability which is VERY cheap in CA. Can't say enough about it...
