"I would never have bought this car if I had known about all the trouble I would be going through"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Me and my boyfriend got this car for $200 from a friend who said that everything inside the car is new so you shouldn't have to buy anything for it. i had to buy a new battery and alternater just weeks after the car was bought. shortly after the head gasket went and I had to buy a new engine. then the fuel filter went. i don't recommend this car for anyone. gas wise its pretty good, you get 50 some miles to the gallon. the radiator fluid starting leaking so my boyfriend had to fix the heater core. oh and I can't forget the rear break drums went out. so much goes wrong with this car. my boyfriend spends more time fixing it than driving it.

General comments?

You bought a lemon that was never taken care of. Let a real mechanic choose your next car. These are good cars. Cry me a river.

Everything new for 200 bucks----RIGHT---you got EXACTLY what you paid for--a 200 dollar car!!!---sounds like to me--you still got off cheap, even with the repairs---ANY, and I mean ANY old car, with a lot of mile WILL NEED REPAIRS---people can't seem to understand, that when they buy a 200 car--That's WHAT THEY GET--If it lasts ONE MONTH your lucky--if you want fewer repairs you will have to SHOP SMART, and Ill STILL BET--you won't find anything for 200 bucks that even runs----GOOD LUCK, but be for real---you got what you paid for, you can't complain, and expect sympathy for a 200 car that runs. AND PLEASE PEOPLE---STOP EXPECTING A 200 CAR to be a BRAND NEW 20,000 CAR---PLEASE!!!

So, you're boyfriend "repaired" the heater core? Hmmm... before or after the head gasket went out? A serious overheat (which could happen during a cooling system repair...i.e. heater core) could quickly spell doom for a head gasket in ANY engine.

You say the head gasket went and you had to replace the 'engine'. this is false, it needed... well... the head gasket! should have brought it to a machine shop and had the head resurfaced and done right, then back to a real mechanic to check out the cooling system. sorry to hear about the heater core as well, but as with the other comments above- DIDDO I agree. don't listen to 'friends' selling a Geo metro for $200 that needs no work... because it will.

You got a 200 dollar car.. that's all you got. You should have known that you would be putting money into it at that price, or you were blinded by its cute style and just didn't care.

I'm with all the other people that have stated their thoughts about your 200 dollar car... really, you have the right to complain!!!
