1990 Geo Metro lsi convertible review from North America
"Reliable and economical, but not sporty at all"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Door handles fell off
stock radio stopped working
burned a lot of oil after about 120,000
front end rocker arm came loose at 100,000 creating bad wear on tires
seats and carpet fell apart early
the convertible locking bow broke, but I think that the company that replaced my vinyl top was to blame because it just fell apart one day while driving about a month after they worked on it and looked like it was glued together.
General comments?
I really beat this car up and did almost no maintenance on this vehicle so it held up very well all things considered
it never really stopped running on me
with the burning oil though once one of the plugs got fouled it would stall, but once I cleaned the plug or put in a new one it ran great again
it could keep up with traffic on the streets, but lacked the guts on the open highway or on hills
i bought this car for $2700 when it was 5 years old and my insurance gave me $2000 for it when it got wreaked at 13 years old so the car cost me only $700 for 8 year of ownership and 90,000+ miles.
