One rear wheel bearing.
A/C compressor.
Alternator.
This car has given me many years of carefree driving. I mean she always cranks right up for me even when its only 20 degrees outside.
She gets the best gas mileage I've ever seen. Her paint and body are still in great shape. Her engine still runs quietly and smoothly.
I think next year im going to buy a 2001 Metro because I've been told by the local Chevy dealer that it will be most likely the last year the car is produced because of poor sales. Small cars don't have a chance on the road anymore I mean look at that Ford Excursion... WHO NEEDS SOMETHING THAT BIG??? That's what I would like to know, those things are killing the environment.
Put anyway, the Metro has always been a great car for me and I'd buy another one in a second.
Guess what? Gas prices are on the rise again and that means that that Excursion with the 30 gallon tank will take $105 dollars to fill up at $3.50 per gallon (and that is what a lot of the analysts think it will top out at). The Geo will suddenly be in demand. Buy several and just wait. Probably could double or even triple your money!! Don't believe the dealer. "Little" cars will be back, big time...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my 1.0 liter Metro... the best car ever. Bought with 82,000 miles, current 107,400. Taking it on a cross country road trip next week.
Cold A/C works great, average 48 mpg highway. Changed the oil every 3000 miles. Only needed brakes, timing belt and water pump in this range of mileage. VIVA le METRO!!!

Geo Metro AH... Where do I begin? First I love my Geo Metro It's a 1994, and it is baby blue. First let me start out by saying that I am in High School, and my friends with all their Mustangs and Camaros make fun of me. HA cause that's where they are wrong, sure laugh while the amount of money I use to fill up my tank gets you what? 1/4 a tank. Next let me say that my Geo was purchased used 6 months ago.
It had 100,000 miles on it (so it was cheap). I paid $1500 for it and with a little work (mostly Stereo) it is now the coolest car in Maryland. My car is currently at 124,986 and it starts every time cold or not. I would also like to say to all of my gas guzzling friends "I will have the last laugh $40.00 to fill up are you crazy? I may not win many races, but at least I'll get there $30.00 richer.
I used to tell Metro owners to remember back when the Mammoth SUV and 4x4 pickup drivers used to laugh at them, but when gas went over $3/gallon the cryin' the blues gas guzzlers suddenly wanted to steal a Metro.
I found a good used Metro cheap last month. $500 + $44 for a new muffler. Great, simple, inexpensive, and reliable transport.
I had a good laugh telling a SUV owner complaining about $2.25/gal gas that I was 'disappointed' when I calculated my mileage after the first fillup: only 40 mpg!
Real money left in your pocket beats the 'appearance' of 'money' trying to outdo the Joneses any day.
