What things have gone wrong with the car?
The OEM manual locking hubs didn't work when I bought it.
The soft top had shrunk up at the back corners and would no longer latch properly.
Most of the exhaust pipe had holes rusted through it.
Seats have minor tears at the seams.
The key slot for the crankshaft timing sprocket broke out at 140,000 miles.
General comments?
I bought it used and knew what problems it had in advance.
The first thing I replaced was the air filter with a K&N, gave it a full tune up and oil change.
Next, I replaced the OEM manual hubs with Super-Winch which are made much better and have never slipped out of lock.
I replaced the entire exhaust system with a Calmini 2 inch complete custom exhaust, (Header, high-flow cat, turbo muffler and all necessary exhaust pipe) for a fraction of what just the OEM cat would have cost.
I've also replaced the OEM 5 1/2 inch wide rims with 7 inch and put on all terrain tires.
With these additions, this little SUV can get in and back out of mud holes that larger trucks have problems with.
