1997 GMC Jimmy SLE review from North America
"It has been a great truck, and is worth every penny"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had to replace the transmission around 125,000 miles. This cost about 2,000 dollars, and I lost the truck for three days.
I also had to replace the water pump about 150,000. This proved to be difficult and I had to replace the clutch fan too. The whole thing cost about 250,and I lost the truck for a day. I also replaced the push button for the four wheel drive. The electric motor had burned up. This cost about 200 dollars. I lost the truck for two days.
General comments?
The Jimmy has been very dependable.
The 4.3 litter vortex has plenty of power.
It also handles well in the snow.
The braking system, however was not very well designed.
It is roomy and fits plenty of people and cargo.
